Good teachers are good illustrators. They find ways of making truth breathe.

Jonathan Edwards is no exception.

In his study of Edwards’ preaching, John Currick notes at least nine different kinds of illustrations he used in his preaching:

1.) Mathematical
2.) Historical
3.) Biblical
4.) Analogical
5.) Personal
6.) Experiential
7.) Similes
8.) Metaphors
9.) Conceptual
